“A book must be the axe for the frozen sea within us.”
Franz KafkaAs a publishing house, we seek to become a tool for freedom of speech. We stand for authors who, through restless effort and the seriousness of their work, seek to call it like they see it, even at the cost of raising controversy. We believe literature should walk through a path free of censorship. A wide variety of points of view carries the potential of sparking important debates, and we believe that’s what a healthy democracy should look like.
